Install steps

  1. Download the ToneRelay installer from Download ToneRelay for Windows.
  2. Run the installer.
  3. Allow the Windows Firewall prompt when it appears.
  4. Open ToneRelay.
  5. Start the 7-day trial or paste your Pro License Key on the License / Activation page.
  6. Refresh devices, select HomePod or HomePod mini, and connect.
  7. Play audio through the Windows default output.

Why Windows Firewall asks

ToneRelay needs local-network access so its playback sidecar can communicate with the speaker. The inbound rule should point to binaries/airplay-sidecar.exe inside the ToneRelay installation.

If you denied the prompt

Reinstall ToneRelay and approve the prompt, or manually allow binaries/airplay-sidecar.exe in Windows Firewall. Without this permission, device discovery or playback may fail.

If the speaker does not appear

Confirm the PC and speaker use the same non-guest local network, turn off VPN for a test, then refresh devices. Continue with the discovery guide if the speaker is still missing.
